yes, very good. here’s something you might be interested to try. at 2:37, there’s that background whining feedback kind of noise, i guess i’d call it. then shortly after, everything else gets kinda distorted and higher rez. personally, which is based on my tastes mind you, i’d like to see that part of the breakdown extended, with just that stuff and a kick drum added at that 2:50 point or whatever it is. that whining thing is very interesting. with that stuff and the kick added, it’s very minimal but really tough sounding. you could tweak with that whining thing and really make it go into “the insane”. that kind of sound (and it at a higher frequency) has always been one of my favorites because, well, i won’t put into words here. it reminds of a certain state of altered mind, where you combine everything you’re getting, especially that really subtle creepiness. certain wavelengths and phases can be very powerful. now, i don’t know if it would be better to just have the kick, or to have that snare and highhat also when it’s extended. of course, eventually they would need to be added. after listening to it, here’s what i think. at 2:37, maybe leave out the highhat. i think if you extend the breakdown with all that minimal building insanity, it might better without the highhigh. especially with some tweaking, because the highhat would take away from the mental picture you are building. it would be like something is docking is space, but whatever is docking isn’t quite ready for what it’s about to encounter. then when that kick comes in, it gets it chugging. with the addition of that snare and/or highhat, it gets the dance part going. then of course it’s up to you to bridge that all back to the rest of the track, so that somehow the docking “something” has come to terms with what it has seen and has negotiated with its own mind. how’s that for some mentalism? and i’m not even on anything!

Well it’s late and all I can say for now is that that has to be the greatest comment ever in the history of blogging.
